It is also important to note that the base of the bed does not carry the same warranty as the mattress. A base warranty is only 1 year in our case and most others.
What is a warranty on a bed?
A mattress warranty is a quality assurance standard undertaken by the manufacturer of the bed and or mattress. It is in place to ensure that the item that you purchased is expected to be free of any defects as far as materials and workmanship is concerned. It is also a commitment from the manufacturer that they will repair or replace the faulty items within a specified time period. The warranty applies to models, even the affordable bed range
Warranty terms and conditions
Some warranties have certain conditions attached to them. For example, if you choose a specific type of deal from the retailer you may be required to purchase a mattress protector. There are several terms and conditions that you need to follow and adhere to so that your warranty remains valid. If the bed is dirty or the maximum weight rating is exceeded the warranty will be void. Please be sure to check on the details of your warranty as each manufacturer is different.
Warranty claim process
Should you find that you have any issues with your bed you will need to contact the retailer that you bought it from. There are 2 possible ways that the claim will be addressed. The first is that the manufacturer will handle all of the communications and logistics. The second is that the retailer (as is the case with The bed guy) will be overseeing the process. The responsible party will arrange everything in order to get your bed to the factory for repair and its repair or replacement.
Bed warranty vs guarantee
In the case of bed and mattress guarantees and warranties, they can have both or just one. Usually, a guarantee will also have a warranty. For example, a bed that has a 2-year guarantee it could have a warranty of between 10 and 12 years. In the case of a mattress guarantee and a claim, you may be able to get the item replaced or be eligible for a refund at no cost to you. As for a warranty, the manufacturer will be entitled to repair the defective item and there may be a cost involved to remedy the problem. The bed base only carries a 1-year warranty
